How to decide your Media Plan for Radio Advertising?
When you choose Radio as your advertising vehicle, the things that should be considered to create n effective media plan are as follows:
- Specifying which demographic you’re after: - Who are your customers? Men between 18 and 35? Women between 35 and 54? Teenagers?
Whatever demo you’re after, you can most likely find a radio station in your market, programmed specifically to reach that narrow audience segment.
- Gathering Information from your customers: One of the best sources to help you determine which radio station to choose is your current customers. These people already believe in your business, and you want to draw in more patrons like them. So find out what your customers are listening to.
Do an informal survey- Ask your customers this question:” What is your favourite radio station?” After you have surveyed a few dozen people, a pattern begins to emerge, and you can have a good idea about which stations to consider for your advertising.
If a station is appealing to your existing customers, it’s likely a good bet to attract new ones.
- Knowing which stations are best for you: - Narrow your list of possibilities to three or four stations, confirm it meshes with your target market and then choose a station which gives you the best slots to attract customers to your business, customers who want to buy what you’re selling.
Ex:- If you want to sell technology related product to upscale market, it’s better to use a English channel than pure regional.
